Volunteer
Kansas Special Olympics includes over 115 local programs or teams across the state with over 7,500 athletes competing year round in a variety of sports.

As a volunteer
you have an opportunity to make a difference and to change lives.  Not just the life of Special Olympics athlete--but your own life as well.  These teams exist in your hometown or community and need your help as a volunteer to make sure that these programs keep going!

The greatest need
for volunteers in Kansas is at the local program level.  Volunteers serve as certified coaches, drivers, finance, public relations and fundraising volunteers and event volunteers in local communities.
To provide a quality sports programs for all individuals with mental retardation, we rely on dedicated volunteers of all ages to assist in many aspects of the program.  Volunteering for Special Olympics Kansas allows individuals to share in the joy each athlete experiences while competing at all levels.

Volunteers can serve as:

  • Coaches
  • Officials
  • Sponsors
  • Special Event Coordinators
  • Games Management Team Members
  • Day of Event Volunteers

For more information on how you can become involved in your community contact your local Special Olympics team or call 1-800-444-9803
